SINTER

The new collection from designer Nell Tercek, inspired by the natural formations of Yellowstone: its mineral terraces, steaming pools, and bands of color that shift with heat and light.

Made with climate justice at its center, the collection pairs delicate hand- and machine-knit pieces with mesh printed with photographs of the park, layering image and texture into ombrés and palettes drawn from the landscape. Its technical layers are draped and sewn from used outdoor and athletic gear rather than new fabric, giving the clothing people wear to experience wild places a second life.

The collection recognizes that Yellowstone was home to Indigenous peoples for thousands of years before it became a park, and remains culturally significant to the 27 Tribes associated with it today.

It is the first expression of HOTSPOT, a global fashion initiative Tercek is developing, in which designers respond to threatened landscapes in their own regions.
